Irrigation Policy for Non-Planted Fields, Summer 2019

Changes Must Be Submitted by June 14th

Farmers:

Due to the wet conditions experienced this year and a high volume of fields that may not be planted, we are offering the following exceptions to our Irrigation Policies for this season.

The changes and conditions are as follows:

  • Customers must contact Southern Public Power District by Friday, June 14th indicating they are not planting a field due to wet conditions and that they would like to make a rate change for the 2019 season.
  • If a customer is signed up for two-day, three-day or four-day control, they will be allowed to change to a control rate that is more control, or to the standby/not used rate.
  • If a customer is on full power or anytime interruptible, they will be eligible to only go on the standby/not used rate.

New Irrigation Service Agreements will be mailed to the customer once the request is made, to verify that the correct wells have been changed.

After June 14th, the current policy allowing customers to move to a rate schedule with less control will stay in effect and customers will be charged $100 plus the difference in the rate.

For more information please contact our Irrigation Services Department at 800-579-3019.

Be aware of electrical hazards after a flood. Downed power lines could be hidden by standing water, and the lines could still be energized: http://ow.ly/RE0p50N7Boj #SafeElectricity #FloodSafety #SPPD #PublicPower #PoweringaBrighterFuture
